The Nothings of the Alphabet: Surface Patterns - Eric Schmaltz

"The poems featured in this leaflet are taken from a series entitled 'The Nothings of the Alphabet', which presents works composed using only the shapes that make up the closed parts of the letters A, B, D, O, P, Q, and R. The shape made by the enclosure of a letter is referred to as a 'counter' in typography. These pieces thus give presence to an aspect of the alphabet that is otherwise thought of as void."
